Our Archdiocese

The Archdiocese of Brisbane is an incredibly and surprisingly diverse organisation. With the Gospel at its heart, over 150 years our organisation has grown to encompass almost one hundred parish communities; faith-filled agencies bringing Catholic teaching to all kinds of people in all kinds of ways; and education and essential social services systems that are relied upon by Queenslanders from all walks of life.

Archbishop Shane Mackinlay leads the Archdiocese of Brisbane, offering spiritual guidance with wisdom, dedication, and faith.

Archbishop Emeritus Mark Coleridge

Archbishop Mark Coleridge retired on 11 September 2025 and is the Archbishop Emeritus of Brisbane.
