Advent season is a time of preparation for the Solemnities of Christmas. It is a time of spiritual renewal, a chance to direct our hearts and minds to receive the nativity of Christ, our Saviour. As prophet Isaiah proclaimed, “A voice cries out: ‘In the wilderness prepare the way of the Lord, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.’” (Isaiah 40:3), we fill our hearts and soul with joyous anticipation and hope of the fulfilment of God’s plan in the person of Jesus Christ.
