Catholics around Australia are revealing the country’s best Church and community leaders for a chance to be named a winner of the 2017 Community Leader Awards.
Now in its third year, the 2017 Community Leader Awards, will honour five outstanding Catholics showing exemplary leadership as professionals, young Catholics, school leaders, volunteers, and community leaders.
The Archdiocese of Brisbane’s official newspaper, The Catholic Leader, established the Community Leader Awards in 2014 to honour Catholic lay people, religious and clergy for the work they do in Australia.
The Catholic Leader managing editor Matt Emerick said the awards highlighted the good works that Catholics were doing in Australia.
“These awards shows the Catholic Church in Australia, particularly through the faithful, continues to be a source of goodness and hope,” Mr Emerick said.
“This message of hope is more important now than ever.”
Catholics can complete nominations for five categories – Professional Leader of the Year, Young Leader of the Year, School Leader of the Year, Volunteer of the Year and Community Leader of the Year.
Nominations for the Awards close on September 29, 2017.
The Catholic Leader will present the winners for the Awards at an official cocktail party on November 15 at St Rita’s College, Clayfield with special guest Archbishop Mark Coleridge.
