God’s people Media releases New Parish Administrator not to attend services at St Mary’s again this weekend

The Administrator of St Mary’s Parish, South Brisbane, Fr Ken Howell, has announced he will not be presiding or attending Masses at St Mary’s this weekend of 28 February / 1 March  (Updated: or any weekend until the independent mediation process occurs – at this time anticipated to be held in the week beginning March 15).

Fr Howell said the barriers which unfortunately precluded him from attending Masses last weekend have not changed.

“I have again reluctantly taken the decision not to preside at this weekend’s masses at St Mary’s church as I will not engage in  a situation where the celebration of the Mass becomes a place of conflict and division.

“I am hopeful that the independent mediation process, to be conducted by the Hon. Ian Callinan AC, former Justice of the High Court of Australia, will result in a peaceful and timely resolution of the current impasse,” Fr Howell said.
