Each month, our Holy Father Pope Francis, invites us to join him in prayer for specific intentions that hold great significance for our faith community and the world. In October, we unite in prayer for a shared mission that reflects our commitment to love and service. Let us embrace this opportunity to pray together with Bishop Tim Norton.

Hi, I’m Bishop Tim. And I’m here with you today so we can pray together. We take as our theme the prayer intention of Pope Francis for the month of October which is for a Shared Mission. This month the Vatican will host the second session of the Synod on Synodality, having had the first session last year. Coincidentally, our Archdiocese will host the second session of our Synod this month, having had the first session in September. We begin our prayer in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Let us pray that the Church continues to develop and sustain a synodal lifestyle in every way, as a sign of co-responsibility, promoting the participation, communion and mission shared by laity, religious and priests. We ask You Lord that you help us be a Church that listens in a synodal way, especially to those who have felt marginalised and excluded so that, like you, we can truly be a Church that goes out on mission.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Please keep praying for our Synod. Until the next time we pray together.
