One of the key interests that we have is ‘well-being’. To achieve this, we take various ways, such as consuming healthy food and drink and exercising. Many people also get vitamins and minerals from a pharmacy because they complement our physical and mental health. We cannot help but explore any beneficial options as much as we can, for our well-being.This weekend, our Lord Jesus is with us to talk about the spiritual well-being we pursue, that’s known as eternal life. Jesus clearly states how we can achieve the eternal life, through His Body and Blood. Jesus says, “The bread that I shall give is my flesh.” He adds, “Anyone who eats my flesh has eternal life.”
The food and drink are, first, offered by the Lord. No other food and drink can be more special than the food and drink that Jesus offers since those from Jesus not only solve our spiritual hunger and thirst, but to draws us to ultimately appreciate the undivided love of God. In this undivided love of God, Jesus invites us once again to take His Body and Blood, not because we have to do it as a formality, but because He desires our lives to be signs of eternal life.
We are drawn to experience the fundamental aspect of eternal life in our earthly life. That aspect is being fully united with God. We partake in the Eucharist with faith and gratitude, remembering that it is through this sacred nourishment that we achieve spiritual well-being. Let us open our hearts to the transformative power of His Body and Blood, as it leads us to the very well-being, which is our Jesus Christ.
