This month, Pope Francis invites us to pray that technology enhances human relationships, respects dignity, and helps address global crises. Let us join in prayer with Joseph, asking that we use technology and our time wisely to share God’s message of love with the world, following Jesus’ example. May we balance our use of technology with meaningful human connections, using it to unite and uplift all people. Blessed Carlo Acutis, pray for us.

Hi, my name is Joseph Thorley. I’m a graphic artist working with Archdiocesan Ministries, where I help communicate the life of the Church. I’m passionate about using creativity to help share our faith in Jesus, and I often use technology as a tool for evangelisation and connection. I’m joining you today to share the Pope’s Prayer Intention for the month of April, which is, the use of new technologies. Pope Francis said, “Let us pray that the use of new technologies will not replace human relationships, will respect the dignity of the person and will help us face the crises of our times.” It’s a powerful reminder that while technology is a gift, it must always serve a deeper good of human connection, dignity, and justice. My hope is that we continue to embrace technology and its advancements, and that we will use technology and our time wisely to communicate God’s message of love to the world, following the example of Jesus. Let us pray together.
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Heavenly Father, You have given us the skill and ability to create technology. We have used it often to spread the Good News of salvation and God’s plan. Help us to continue to evangelise in this way, using the gifts You have given us. Through technology, we have an easily accessible way to communicate with one another. Let us continue to witness, not only with our words, but with the work we do in Jesus’ name. May we continue to embrace our responsibility in this life, to serve You and those we encounter each day as we seek a balance in our use of technology. May we continue to embrace technology and its advancements, and may we use technology and our time wisely to communicate Your message of love to the world. Amen.
