Almost everything you ever wanted to know about the Catholic Church in Australia is now online following today’s launch of the new CatholicAustralia website.
The Catholic Australia Website is now on-line at www.catholicaustralia.com.au.
Sister Rosemarie Joyce CSB, President of the National Executive of the Australian Conference of Leaders of Religious Institutes (ACLRI), launched the CatholicAustralia site at the annual Assembly of the Leaders in Sydney on Friday July 1.
“CatholicAustralia is a wonderful resource for anyone wanting to know more about the Catholic Church, its spiritual and practical dimensions,” Sr Rosemarie said.
“Each of us here represents a community whose work embodies special aspects of Catholic life be it in schools, in hospitals, with poor and disadvantaged people, or others in our community.
“This new website enables anyone to access information about our work and faith, and I commend it to you”.
Church Resources has developed the CatholicAustralia web site for parishes, schools and individuals to help the Church use the internet effectively in carrying out its mission.
The site offers news, articles, thought provoking essays and accessible information of interest to any Australian wanting to know about anything Catholic.

More resources are in preparation including expanded content on spirituality, social justice, current issues, the saints and resources for youth and young adults.
Martin Teulan, Chief Operating Officer for Church Resources, said the new site had unlimited potential.
“Imagine an Australian Catholic Encyclopaedia on the web,” he said. “That is what CatholicAustralia will become in time.
“Already it is a great resource for every Catholic, and for anyone interested in Christianity. We believe it will be an important tool for evangelisation as it is simple, easy to use and inspiring.”
