Hello, I’m Christopher Trikilis Director of Music here at St Stephen’s Cathedral. This year we celebrate twenty-five years of the Jubilee Pipe Organ. The organ was built in the year 2000 by the leading Danish Australian organ builder, Knud Smenge. And it’s the last of the great large Australian organs. With nearly 2500 pipes, some made from wood, some made from metal. This organ has the ability to go from being a whisper to an absolute roar, and covers the full gamut of emotions that covers our worshiping life. So come in, have a listen, have a look at this amazing organ. It’s used at all weekend masses and other special occasions. We will have a guest organist, Daniel Roth, coming from Paris, to play for us at the end of November to celebrate twenty-five years of this fantastic organ.
