Over 5,000 Catholics processed through the streets of Brisbane in the Corpus Christi celebration, honouring Jesus truly present in the Eucharist. This year’s procession was especially meaningful, as Archbishop Mark Coleridge led the celebration for the final time. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all who organised and participated in this beautiful witness of faith and devotion to our Eucharistic Lord.

I really love Corpus Christi procession. It’s my favorite day of the year. I just love being able to see Jesus in the Eucharist and just come together as a Church here in Brisbane. We are here to proclaim our faith and represent our culture as well. I’m actually volunteering today, I’m one of the guard of honours and it is an honour. We’re just here to process with our Lord, to adore our Lord, be a witness of our faith, bring Christ to the world, walk with Him as he walks in us as living tabernacles. I’m walking with Jesus, yeah, that’s how I’m feeling. I think it’s really good and really nice and I think it’s a great proclamation for our faith. And just to pray and for all those that don’t have God in their lives yet and just give them a hunger for Jesus. This is very important because Jesus comes to us as a Saviour. He gave the body to be one community. Christ is the King, which is Corpus Christi. You got to like, realise Jesus is the King, you come here to worship that, His Kingship. I just think it’s such an incredible proclamation of faith. We believe in the presence of the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ and He’s the source of life and He’s always waiting for us in the tabernacle. He came down to us with such humility and we should never forget Him, that He’s always there for us in the Church. We need to send that out in the city. It’s such a honour and I always feel so proud of my faith when we do this every year, I look forward to it. It is wonderful because I took part in Rome in the Corpus Christi procession in Rome with the Holy Father in 2016. So it’s nice to know that it’s happening all over the world. The Eucharist is the treasure of the Church, it’s Jesus real in our lives. The Corpus Christ procession has this, this meaning to show to the world Jesus. And this is really important that more people can come and enjoy with us. It’s our pathway to Heaven. It’s a fantastic Feast to be a part of. It’s great to do the walk around the city, it’s fantastic I feel. It’s so rich in everything, in every which way as far as our Christian journey. I’m overwhelmed with it. It’s really powerful the way that we’re able to witness our faith but also testifying that Jesus is real and in the Eucharist. It’s just amazing to think that every time we go to Mass we get Jesus for real, you know, not just as a symbol, but, you know, He’s really there. So yeah, to me that’s very special. I would say it’s the cornerstone that we can worship the Blessed Sacrament, worship our God and that young people, especially young men and women who are feeling that calling that they see they’re not alone. So in terms of my own vocational calling, I’d say it’s built off a community, it’s built within a community. That strengthens me, that makes me want to completely devote my life to serving these people as well. I’m proud to be Catholic and I want to show that. You know, I want to show everyone that I’m a Catholic and I believe in the Body and Blood of Christ. It actually felt like super beautiful, I was talking to my friend she and I were talking about how it reminds us like of our future, God willing, our future life in heaven. When we were praying like the Rosary like the wind was moving in such a very spiritual way that it can only be God, I can only explain it as God. It surpassed everything that I was going to expect. So I’m so grateful, I would love to come again. We love Jesus!
