July: For formation in discernment

Pray for Pope Francis’ Monthly Prayer Intention for July, for formation in discernment, with Noah Keenan

July: For formation in discernment
God’s people July: For formation in discernment

We continue to unite our prayers with the intentions of the Holy Father entrusted to us this year. This month, we are blessed to be joined by Noah from the UQ Newman Catholic Society. Together, let us pray for the gift of wisdom as we discern the path that God has laid before us. May the Holy Spirit guide us to recognise and choose the way that will lead us to true life, and grant us the courage to turn away from all that draws us away from Christ and the Gospel. Let us lift our hearts in prayer.

G’day, my name is Noah Keenan, I’m a student at the University of Queensland and a member of the Core Team of the UQ Newman Society. Today, I’d like for you to pray with me Pope Francis’ prayer intention for July. This month, Pope Francis, God rest him, asked for us to focus on praying for wisdom in discerning our paths in life. In keeping with this intention, I ask for you to pray with me. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Loving God, we come to you this day, as pilgrims in an uncertain world. In following You, we encounter numerous paths before us, each that lead to a unique destination, carrying their own trials and joys. Standing before these paths in our lives, we face difficult decisions. You, above all others Lord, know that our lives are wracked with doubt and confusion. As we journey ever closer to You, our source of hope and the unchanging rock of our lives, we pray that we do not stray from the path You have set before us. Let us pray that we might again learn how to discern, to know how to choose paths of life and reject everything that leads us away from Christ and the Gospel. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
