Hi everyone, I’m Fr Will. Hi I’m Sr T. And we’re here to talk to you guys about Lent! Well Fr Will, what is the importance of the empty tomb for you?

Yeah, well our whole faith banks on the tomb being empty. Like, even Saint Paul picks up on it in Corinthians, when he says if the tomb wasn’t empty then our proclamation and our living out of this faith that we believe in is all in vain and so, you know, that’s why Easter is so important. This not some season three of your favourite TV show where that favourite character of yours comes back to life. Jesus actually rose from the dead and he’s back and he’s living among us here and now and so I think that’s worth celebrating. It’s what we believe in and it’s really what’s given life to us. You know, there’s hope beyond the veil, like it’s no more death and the sting of death is no more over us or oppressing us but we live in this kind of freedom now.

That is so true Fr Will. It is about hope. We can see beyond the empty tomb without our faith and our hope in God. For me personally when I meditate on the empty tomb it remind me of the moment that I can only see the empty tomb. But then I need to pray and when I feel doubt and for uncertainties and out of control I think of the empty tomb. And knowing that the voice of the Angel telling me that He is not here, He is alive. So it give me hope that God is right here with us and with me.

Yeah, God is alive people and hold on to that hope and keep pushing through this Lent.

And keep looking beyond the empty tomb.
