Opening our hearts to Christ this Palm Sunday
God’s people Let’s Pray Opening our hearts to Christ this Palm Sunday

Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week, a time to commemorate Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem and to prepare our hearts for the journey to Calvary. As we reflect on this sacred moment, may we walk with our Saviour from the joy of His procession to the sorrow of His Passion, where He gave His life for our salvation. Let us join Fr Michael in prayer as we enter this most holy time.

My dear friends, today, we gather to celebrate Palm Sunday, the beginning of Holy Week, as we remember the triumphant entry of Jesus into Jerusalem. With great joy, the people laid down palm branches and shouted, “Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!” As we reflect on this special day, we are reminded of Jesus’ humility, love, and the hope He brings to the world. Palm Sunday invites us to open our hearts to Christ, welcoming Him as our Saviour and King. It also encourages us to walk with Him through the events of the coming days, preparing ourselves for the significance of His sacrifice and resurrection. So let us now join together in worship, lifting our voices and pray.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Heavenly Father, On this joyful Palm Sunday, we come before You with hearts full of praise and gratitude. We join with the crowd that welcomed Jesus into Jerusalem, waving our palms and lifting our voices in praise. We thank You for the love, grace, and salvation You offer us through Your Son, Jesus Christ. As we remember His humble entry, we ask that You help us to embrace His example of peace and humility in our own lives. Help us to acknowledge His kingship over our lives. Let us follow Him, not just with words, but with actions of kindness, compassion, and service. Help us to prepare our hearts for the journey ahead this Holy Week, to reflect on His sacrifice, and to renew our commitment to walk in His footsteps. May His presence in our lives bring us hope, joy, and strength as we await the resurrection on Easter Sunday. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Have a blessed Holy Week!
