Have you prayed the Christmas novena before? The novena begins each year on the Feast of St Andrew, November 30. Traditionally, this prayer is recited fifteen times daily until Christmas Eve, offering a beautiful way to fix our minds and hearts on the mystery of the Incarnation. You are warmly invited to pray the novena below.

My name is Fr Michael Grace. I’m the Parish Priest of Mother of Mercy Parish, Hendra, and the Administrator of Saint Agatha’s Parish, Clayfield. Today we’re praying a special Advent novena in the lead up to Christmas. It’s called Saint Andrew’s Novena because it commences on the feast day of Saint Andrew. This traditional prayer helps prepare us to celebrate Christmas. It’s usually prayed fifteen times a day. And so let us pray.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Hail and blessed be the hour and the moment in which the Son of God was born of the most pure Virgin, at midnight, in Bethlehem, in the piercing cold. In that hour vouchsafe, I beseech Thee, O my God, to hear my prayer and grant my desires through the merits of Our Savior Jesus Christ, of His blessed Mother. Amen.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
May peace be with you this Advent. God bless you.
