A spirit of volunteerism has long supported and underpinned the Catholic Church in its quest to truly be the “one body of Christ”.
As people mature, whether in years or in wisdom, they can often develop a sense of wishing to give of their time and talents for the sake of others. This generosity of spirit, of offering or giving of oneself, can find many outlets in the Archdiocese of Brisbane.
South East Queensland is acknowledged as one of the fastest growing regions in the country. As the resources of the Archdiocese are challenged by an increasing population there is a growing opportunity and need for the involvement of the lay people in the life of the local church.
The archdiocese offers numerous opportunities for individuals to participate in this way, whether through membership on Councils and Committees; appointment to working groups and planning committees or simply by joining care and concern groups or liturgy and music groups at your local parish.
If you would like to register your interest for volunteer positions please contact our Volunteer Coordinator via email volunteers@bne.catholic.net.au.
Alternatively if you would like to volunteer at your local parish it is best to phone them directly. We have a list of parishes available which may be of use to you.
