At challenging stages in life it can be difficult to find meaning in what you are experiencing. Talking through that struggle, with someone who will sit quietly with you and listen without judgement, can help you to make sense of your experiences. This is where chaplains come in.
As a faith based organisation we believe that pastoral and spiritual care is an integral part of the continuum of care people require over their lifetime. Our pastoral carers are trained in the Catholic tradition to show loving care to all members of our community who need support. In all interactions with a chaplain or pastoral carer you set the agenda and they will come with listening ears and an open mind to support you.
Centacare provides pastoral care to people in the following settings:
- Hospital chaplaincy – Pastoral care for people during a stay in hospital in South East Queensland
- Prison chaplaincy – Pastoral care and support for people in prisons in South East Queensland
- Mental Health Support Services – Walking alongside people with a mental illness, helping them work toward their recovery goals
