As the nation officially mourns Queen Elizabeth II, Archbishop Mark reflected on her life at a Requiem Mass for the late Monarch: “Only God sees things whole, which is why Saint Gregory the great, in one of his more famous texts, prayed for the grace to see things whole, that is to say with the eye of God. We may have known the Queen for a long time but it is very hard indeed to see Queen Elizabeth II whole… we pray that Elizabeth will be welcomed by God as a deeply loved daughter, to whom a unique call came early in life and who till the day she died never failed to respond dutifully, faithfully and generously; leaving a legacy which will long outlive her.”
