Hi everyone I’m Fr Will. Hi I’m Sr T. We’re here to talk to you guys about Lent! So Fr Will, what is the meaning of the Easter bunny and Easter eggs?Yeah, well I can certainly say that there is no Easter bunny that lays Easter eggs. It’s a kind of clash of all these mythologies and all these different symbols. But I think the important thing to keep in mind is that the kind of idea it brings to life, which is this sense that there is new life and there is new life essentially found in Christ. And although we have all these different things coming together at the one time at Easter, you might have all your different Easter egg hunts, you might enjoy Lindt chocolate here or there, or you might enjoy whatever. I think it’s important to keep in mind that we do enjoy it, this life that has been given to us with the people that we love. So enjoy your Easter celebrations knowing that this life is a gift from God.
Yeah, and so at Easter everywhere you go you will see chocolate egg, that is Easter egg, it symbolises new life like Fr Will said. But it is for us to also remember that Jesus is alive, it is an empty tomb and Jesus is right here with us; in our house, in our school, and in our families. So enjoy Easter knowing that God is with us. Happy Easter everyone!
