Unity College year 8 student Abbey Teague is making waves on her water skis with recognition at national and state level.

Abbey attended the Australian junior selective ski school where she received the perpetual trophy for the most outstanding Australian Junior Skier. Competing in the Australian Junior Masters, Abbey came away with four medals, placing second in U14girls slalom, trick and jump events and placing 2nd overall.

She then went on to represent Australia at the Australia vs New Zealand Showdown in Newcastle, where she equalled the Australian u14 girls slalom record and received silver medal in all three categories as well as silver in overall.

Abbey now holds the Australian record for U14 girls jump which she achieved at the NSW state titles.  The Australian titles were held in Perth over the Easter break where Abbey continued her success winning the U14 girls jump and second in both slalom and trick.  She came home with an overall placing of second in the U14 girls section.  This ensured her selection in the U17 World squad for 2018.

This week, at only 13 years of age, Abbey won the Queensland state titles in all three disciplines and overall division for the U17 girls age group. Abbey now has her eye on even bigger competitions in the next 12 months and her training schedule will ensure even further successes.
