Each month, Pope Francis puts forward a prayer intention and asks Catholics around the world to join him in prayer. These monthly prayer intentions reflect the concerns of the Holy Father for the humanity and the sacred mission of the Catholic Church.
For the month of May, we are joined by Deacon Michael My Van Tran, a seminarian at the Holy Spirit Seminary, in a prayer for the formation of religious and seminarians. We pray that religious women and men, and seminarians, grow in their own vocations through their human, pastoral, spiritual and community formation, leading them to be credible witnesses to the Gospel. Please keep Deacons Michael My Van Tran and Bradley Davies in your prayers as they embark on their final journey towards their Presbyteral Ordination in June.
Pope Francis’ Monthly Prayer Intention – May 2024 – Transcript
Hello, my name is Deacon Michael. I am now in Gympie Parish. This month, Pope Francis asks us to pray for the formation of men and women religious and seminarians. Throughout my formation journey toward the priesthood, I know how important it has been to receive your prayers and support. So please join me today as we pray for the formation of men and women in our Church.
Let us begin, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Almighty Father, we thank you for those who have answered your call to serve as priests and religious men and women across the world to serve your Holy Name. Thank you for the call you placed within their hearts, and thank you for all those who are faithfully following you. We ask for an outpouring of your Holy Spirit upon them, preserve and strengthen them in their lifelong service of you. Open the hearts of Your children that they may discern Your Holy Will; inspire in them a love and desire to surrender themselves to serving others in the name of Your son, Jesus Christ. To whatever You ask of us, may we all freely, courageously and lovingly respond. Amen.
