Love is one of the most beautiful feelings we can experience as human beings. It stirs our hearts, brings us joy, and connects us deeply with others. But anyone who has truly loved, whether a spouse, a child, a friend, knows that love cannot stay only at the level of emotion. Feelings come and go. Real love is a choice. In today’s Gospel, Jesus says, “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.” He’s not asking for words or feelings alone. He’s inviting us to live our love through action. Jesus shows us that love means choosing to forgive, to serve, to be faithful, even when it’s hard. And here’s the good news: we are not alone in this. Jesus promises, “I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Advocate to be with you forever.” The Holy Spirit empowers us to love this way, not just with warmth in our hearts, but with strength in our will. So today, let’s be grateful for the feeling of love, but let’s also ask God for the grace to choose love daily. Because love, when chosen, becomes not just a feeling, but a reflection of Christ Himself.
