A range of faith groups, societies and ministries operate on tertiary campuses throughout the Archdiocese of Brisbane.
With slight variations in activity and emphasis, most of these bodies host casual gatherings where students can share in fellowship as they discover and grow in understanding of the Christian life and Catholic Church teachings.
Characteristic of most campuses is a commitment to and understanding of the value of peer-to-peer ministry and witness.
Given tertiary study is often undertaken at a crucial juncture in people’s lives – either the gap between the teen years and adulthood or as a mature age student embarking on a new vocation, the presence of these tertiary faith groups on campus in a time of great change is both reassuring and essential.
They can help with support as the harmonising of both our educational and spiritual development enables us to flourish into the fully formed human being God created us to be.
The following list is not exhaustive, but provides a snapshot of most of the groups active on South East Queensland campuses:
- Australian Catholic University Campus Ministry (MacAuley at Banyo Campus)
- Freedom CMC (Queensland University of Technology)
- Newman Society (University of Queensland)
