Conveniently located at St Francis Xavier Primary School, your child will benefit from our close relationship with the school. Our children make weekly visits to the school library and regularly get to borrow books from our kindergarten library, which they are given responsibility for caring for and returning, as preparation for school. They also enjoy visits with their buddies, visits to the prep classrooms and playgrounds and attend school events including sports carnivals and book week. During each visit your child will become more familiar with the school grounds and and learn new skills such as how to use the water bubblers, where they can run and where they have to walk and where to find the bathrooms. Our educators will watch your child's confidence grow as they become part of our broader school and parish community and prepare for school.

At St Francis Xavier Kindergarten, Queensland Kindergarten Funding Scheme (QKFS) Plus Kindy Support is available for eligible families:

• whose child is listed on a current Australian Government Health Care Card or Australian Government Pensioner Concession Card
• whose child identifies as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
• who have three or more children, of the same age, enrolled in the same year.

This additional support can significantly reduce the daily cost of kindergarten for families. If you think you may be eligible speak to our teams about this when applying.

At St Francis Xavier Kindergarten we offer a Queensland Government approved kindergarten program taught by a university qualified early childhood teacher. As a sessional kindergarten children complete a five-day fortnight, during school hours and school terms.
