It all starts with encounter.
Young people have to meet Jesus; crucified and risen, and view Him as someone very much present in our lives here and now, not as some role model from long ago.
To help foster this life-giving interaction, the Archdiocese promotes all Catholic youth initiatives across Brisbane that provide opportunities for faith development. This includes:
- Parish and deanery youth and young adult groups
- Tertiary ministries
- Ethnic communities
- Movements
- Social justice organisations
- Retreat ministries
- Religious orders youth ministry
The Archdiocese also facilitates participation in broader church events such as World Youth Day, which underscore the universal nature of the Catholic faith and illuminate the huge numbers, richness and diversity of young people still following the faith in other countries around the world.
If the young are given the right experience, then the Catholic Church is still the greatest show on earth and Jesus is as irresistibly attractive now as He ever was.
For more information on opportunities for young people within the Archdiocese of Brisbane please see the Catholic Collective website.
The Catholic Collective is a project of the Archdiocese of Brisbane Youth Evangelisation Office for those not currently connected to the Church.
